Christlike Uniform

 

The Lord have lifted you to this special gathering of the Lord's Supper service. This means you are special and worthy of the Lord. 

Today, I am sharing with you on the topic "Christlike Uniform". I took two of my children to Pentecost Preparatory School and two to another school. While monitoring their overall performance, I decided to withdraw them to PPS and I decided to let them use their old uniform in their new school, thinking it will be allowed. But I was forced to sew them a new one. This tells me that, when you move to a different institution, you have to change your uniform. 

Uniform stand as authority. I once travelled to another region. Upon coming back, I found myself in a long traffic. As the cars were in heavy traffic jam, we finally got to a point where I saw a slim police officer (traffic cop) who was in charge of managing the traffic with lifting of his hands, directing them to their intended destination. It was not because of his stature, but the authority of the uniform he wore kept the traffic in order. 

Also, I went to a financial institution, where there was a long queue. On that day, I wore Pentecost Men Ministry Uniform (PEMEM) and then I heard the PEMEM slogan, "Man!!" I looked round, without seeing who said it but responded, "Be Strong and Courageous...!" A man pulled up to pick me from the queue to serve me -- all because of the uniform I was wearing. This means that, uniform represent favour.

The scripture we are looking at is Colossians 3:12-15.

We are indeed God's own chosen. God did not get us but choose us. Though David was little God chose him to lead an entire nation.

The institution where you once served, you cannot bring that former uniform to your new institution.

If you can wear these uniforms that I am about to talk of, you know we have to get a level in Christianity that you have to say I am taking off my former self uniform and take on the Christlike uniform. It is this level that you have started your true Christian journey.

Compassion

The story of the Good Samaritan man tell us that we have to show compassion towards people who have dire needs of various situations. At times you can find yourself in any problematic situation any you need a compassion and helper. When the Good Samaritan man saw the robbed and wounded man he had compassion on the him and he attend to him and he bind his wounds and took him to the inn for further treatment. Notice that the Good Samaritan might have even seen the wounded man nakedness, but in this life today when people need help and they weakness exposed to us, we end up using it against them later and gossip about it. This is not art of showing compassion but rather hypocrite.

Kind

A kind person does not show distinction towards people. We as a church need to exhibit kindness towards and within ourselves as one people of God, if this is done we will have the needy and sufferers in our midst. we need to be kind to everyone we meet. There was this story;

A pastor wife attended a program which she was invited to, but because of her dressing she was disregarded, after the program nobody approach her and those she pass by, but immediately they saw her entering into her car then they started be nice towards her. 

We should remained and be kind to everyone including strangers. This is Christlike character that God expect and require from all of us. Allow yourself to be prepare by God to be a blessing to all.

Humble

We should understand that humbleness comes naturally. We need to know that everyone have an ego and it shows off when we begins to cast our mind to our possessions, know that the things you are proud of someone have ten times and more of it. Do not look down on others because of their educational achievements any other. When put on a of dress humility, we will no issues with other.

Gentleness

Gentleness means self control. There was this story of; 

We were in Church and woman lay her child on the floor where it was not appropriate, I advice her to pick the child from there form the floor but she did not mind, later she went to give a prophesy. Just upon her return someone step on the finger of the child and it wear off, this women started insulting (who is the foolish person did this).

How can a person just prophesies within a minutes and she will get angering and starting using abusive words or insulting. One of the gentleness exhibited in the Bible is Joseph, when he find out that his wife Mary was pregnant without him not laying with her, he decided do away with her privately before the angel urged him to take her as a wife. Wherever we put on the dress of gentleness or self-control we put the devil to shame.

Lack self-control will put you in difficult life situation, that will end you bowing to people that shouldn't be.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is the most important key thing to bear on this earthly journey. In this life journey of ours no matter how delight and strict you are in any case you will be offended and you must forgive. We must put on the dress of forgiveness. Forgiveness relief you from slavery. There is story;

A man was working in an oil company, and the secretary of the company lies about him diverting a fuel to sell. He was outright demised without investigation. He got hurt and hated the secretary deeply. He have been praying no answers to his prayers. One day he was praying and glowing light appeared on the wall of his room with a dark spot in the center of it, he heard voice telling him that dark spot represent the hatred he had for his former secretary and he should go and ask for the secretary forgiveness for hating her. Hating anyone for hurting you become a sin for you.

We should understand that unforgiveness is a sin and prison for us.
