I Will Build My Church
Matthew 16:18
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it
The word BUILD has been used severally in the Bible.
But according to the Scripture given above, when [Jesus] says build in that context, by the Greek translation, He meant
* to repair
* to edify
* spiritual advancement
* to instruct
* to improve and
* to be led to the truth
You are the church. Together we become the Body of Christ. So Jesus says, "I'll build my church", He's talking of establishing, edifying, improving, repairing etc as stated above.
The Holy Spirit, in your building process, will give you utterance to uplift you. When ever you open your mouth to speak, there will be peace in places of chaos or disorder. In dealing with you, He'll lift you up to a higher height.
In building you, Matthew 16:19 says, He (Jesus) will give you the keys to the Kingdom. That's to say, He'll advance you spiritually. This is the phenomenon that the devil is trying to prevent thereby, affecting the generations of today will ignorance and diverse of evil. But say to your brethren in the Lord, "We're taking the nation for Christ."
Note that, as Christ said, "I'll build my church", He didn't end there. The scripture continued by saying "And the gates of Hell shall not or will not prevail or overcome it. So possessing the/your nation, Jesus is saying that, all manner of evil will be released through sorcery, witchcraft, demonology etc but cannot and shall not prevail because, He's given us the power to overcome.
Now, saying that you're going to posses your nation means, evil doers, witches, wizards sorcerers etc are under strong warning to back off. Taking the nation is not a matter of sleeping, eating and drinking. It's the time for fortification, keeping watch (persistent and consistent prayers) at odd times such as mid-night hours. It's said, every man, woman or child needs to have 8 hours sleep. But this is the message for you: "it's not the number hours you sleep but the quality of the sleep you have". Most evil deeds are propagated at night and it's time we (Christians) change the strategies of attacking.
Some of the strategies of "the gates of hell" can be found in Psalms 91:
* the terrors by night; the arrows that flies by day (vs. 5)
* the pestilence that walks in darkness; the destruction that wastes at noonday (vs. 6).
We ought to stand against the activities of evil to prevent the continuous spilling of blood. Pray without ceasing! Put on the shield of faith so we can quench out the fiery darts of the devil. God bless you.
